Poker Hands

Knowing what the poker hands are can save you some embarrassment when you go all in hoping a flush beats a full house. So here they are from lowest to highest.

High Card – You don’t have anything

Pair – you have two of a kind. For instance you have 2 8s.

2 Pair – you have two, two of a kinds. For instance 2 8s and 2 5s.

3 of a kind – You have 3 of a kind, for instance 3 Ks.

Strait – Your cards go in order, for instance 7 8 9 10 J

Flush – You have at least 5 of 1 suit, for instance 5 hearts.

Full House – You have a 3 of a kind plus a pair, for instance 3 Ks and 2 Js

4 of a Kind – You have 4 of 1 kind, for instance 4 Qs

Strait Flush – you have both a strait and a flush in 1 hand, for instance 8 9 10 J Q all of hearts.

Royal Flush – Is the same as a strait flush only it is as high as it goes, for instance 10 J Q K A all of hearts.

That’s it, so the next time you are hoping a flush beats a full house remember these poker hands and remember it doesn’t.
